Invite Apostolic Musicians

We are sending out invitations to Apostolic Musicians to join us here. I will be using this group to communicate with hundreds of musicians who will be joining us from my Apostolic Artists website. There are more than 400 Apostolic musicians and singers in the Apostolic Artists site, and we are planning a special promotion to build the membership during the next several months.

www.apostolicartists.com features thousands of beautiful songs and instrumentals by outstanding musicians from the Apostolic movement. We have never really promoted the site, but people have discovered it gradually over a period of time, and there is a wide variety of music there with outstanding talent. There are some Apostolic musicians and singers we all know and there are many that are very talented that we never heard of from all over the world.

Members can upload and download songs as well as listen online in CD quality or lower quality for dial up computers. Members who have recorded CDs are able to sell them right there on the site. We have just added the ability to upload movies and most of the members do not know about that yet, but they will be learning about it this week.

I am really excited about all that God is doing, and we look forward to wonderful blessings in time to come here in the Musicians Corner at Apostolics Online and on the Apostolic Aritists weblsite.

When telling others about the Apostolic Artists site please make sure they know to place the S on the word artists when they write http://www.apostolicartists.com

God bless

Bro Wilson, in response to what you wrote....

Yes, it is a ministry foremost. However, musicians do put a lot of time, effort, and money into recording songs, creating songbooks, etc. It's expensive to record music...even if you have a home recording studio. There's the cost of purchasing equipment, upgrading as needed, purchasing CD's, printers, ink, etc.

I do not think it is wrong for them to be compensated. The preacher is paid for preaching. The church janitor is paid for cleaning the church. WHY are people so against those who minister in music receiving anything? What I do around our church, I do for free but I'm not against those who are paid for their labor. A LOT of work & effort goes into the music department...more than people realize.

I do agree that greed should not be involved. No area of ministry should have the attitude "I won't show up if I do not receive XX amount of dollars" But some may be looking at their travel expenses (food, gas or flight, hotel, etc). In those instances, I say God knows their heart and their intentions.

Bro Steve,
Sorry, I can't help in the guitar area. :-( I play piano.

Amen, Rev Wright! I'm UPC but I'm in agreement ~ It's not about being "popular", it's not about having the "latest hit"....it's about ministering through song!

Whatever happened to the thought that your music was a ministry and not a profitable profession? I mean yes the laborer is worthy of his hire. Luke 10:7 But if that is all the laborer is for, then I'd rather not hire. If you know what I mean. I also believe like the bible says too, Proverbs 18:16 "A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men." God will supply the need. You do your job and let God do his. But this junk about not showing up if the pay level is not there. Even in the Apostolic Church? Where is the ministry?

Any guitarist here?..I am looking for some chords

All I need....He is all I need..Jesus is all I need...

Perhaps they are simple chords but with me being a young guitarist I have some trouble finding the chords..any help would be appreciated..

Praise the Lord Elder Wright
I totally agree with what you wrote. It is refreshing to read your post, because I was beginning to think that I was the only one who felt that way. I have expressed the same concerns to many of my Apostolic friends and they don't seem to get it. I am happy to know that I am not alone.

Praise God

One group that I onve gave some serious thought to becoming part of, but eventually didn't was the Pentecostal Musicians Association There were many reasons why I didn't, but the main point of contentiion for me was that if one was going to represent him/herself and/or their group or choir, it had to be of the United Pentecostal Church persuasion. (The last thing I want to do here is "cast stones" at the United Pentecostal Church. They appear to be quite "evangelically driven", If I may use those terms.) I just couldn't not sing or play at the revival churches or campmeetings (and witness tons of folks receive the Holy Ghost Baptism -- leave all the precious intercessors I could count on, the saints that would hold up my arms when they got tired (just like they did for Moses) -- give up all those "sacred treasures" to sing back-up choir for Woodlawn while the cream of United Pentecostal Song Artists did their thing?

Terms like "Gospel Celebrities" "Christian Stars" have no home in the Apostolic Movement. Instead of asking your favourite Gospel singer what song from her/his latest album is going to be the "big hit' Enquire of them the song they have intercessed over and believe the Lord may use as a spark in bringing in a deluge of souls in this hour.

Hello Sister Deonna
I mentioned to bro john a few days ago that we need to make the Apostolic Artists site more user friendly. You and I are on the same page, and we are working to do that. I also had everything working good on it a couple of weeks ago, but when I checked the site a couple of days ago nothing seemed to be working right. I don't know if it has been hacked or what, but we will try to get it al back together and I will try to make some chages such as those you suggested to make it better for everybody.

Thanks for you note.
God bless

Praise the Lord, Bro Rutledge & Bro Atkinson! Thank you so much for all you are doing! It is truly a blessing and I pray God continues to bless you both abundantly!

May I point out some things concerning Apostolic Artists?

I am learning to navigate around the site but the site is not very user friendly....especially for those who are not computer savy.
It would be very helpful if there were links at the top of each artist/listener page to choose where you wanted to be directed to just as there are on the front page. If I want to go back to the artist's list, I have to click home then click the links at the top from there...it's the long route every time I want to listen to someone's music.

Also, sometimes it directs me to my control panel when I click "home" (I think mainly after I receive an error message). Some people may not realize all they have to click is "exit control panel" to get back to the main page. I didn't realize that at first and I know of others who wouldn't figure it out without assistance.

I also receive an error message sometimes when I try to rate a song or an artist.

You're doing a great job with the site! God bless!

Hello again brother John

I went to the site, and everything seems to be working fine. We do have some artists there who have never uploaded any songs as yet. Perhaps you went to a page where no songs had been uploaded.

At the top of the site click on LISTS and you will see a drop down list of options.

You may want to click on Artists and it will open up one of 43 member's pages.

Thousands of songs can be found as you browse through the members pages. There are other ways but that can get you started.

I didn't notice if you had enrolled as a member yet.Members can freely upload MP3s to the site. It can be a little complicated, and I do plan to make it easier for everybody. Meanwhile here is another site you may enjoy that I created not too long ago. www.apostolicvideo.com
