Psalms 102:1-2, 1 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee. 2 Hide not thy face from me in the day [when] I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day [when] I call answer me speedily.

That's a wonderful, thought-provoking, and yes: shame-bringing article to this Apostolic Pentecostal!

I do remember that each summer our church would hold a Holy Ghost Tent Revival. We would erect the tent in an empty field on some property the church had purchased years before so a larger church building could be built when needed.

The glory of the Lord came down! All the time! Numerous people were baptized in Jesus' name in a horse trough to the side of the podium, and many went on to receive the Baptism in the Holy Ghost with evidential speaking in tongues from the Holy Ghost to attest to the veracity of the experience.

And the saints rejoiced! The power of God came down in such force that we not only shouted and "carried on" on the straw and sawdust floor of the tent, but some would also run and shout, dance, and speak in tongues under the power out in the middle of the fields!

One evening we evidently were making a much louder "joyful sound" than usual; so much so that wicked sinner men from surrounding surburban homes showed up at the door of the tent -- with a rifle, baseball bat, and tire iron.

Their mission? To either kill the ring leader of this group of crazy "holy rollers", or run these Pentecostals off the property so they won't disturb the peace of the area. (Evidently, shouting doesn't sit too well with folks trying to watch television -- but that's another storysermon). But the Lord was good! The Spirit of the Lord did His thing and soon many of the sinner men were on their knees repenting of their sins. But as our Lord said in the Gospels, "You're not going to see things like this unless you pray and fast."

Remember when there would be Tonges and Interpretation; dancing, shouting, singing and rejoicing before service officially started?

In the "old days" a buddy of mine came to church with me one Sunday and made the comment to me that the folks tarrying in the prayer room (which was packed -- Pastor was always in the men's prayer room, the First Lady was always in the ladies prayer room) sounded as if "they were dying" or "pregnant, and in labor giving birth."

Both are true! As we become more Christlike, we die out to self and there becomes 'more room' for Jesus in our hearts (if that statement makes sense to anybody). And how can we expect the One True God to grant us the souls of lost humanity if we will not get into a spirit of prayer and groan and agonize before Him and work and labor until new life becomes reality in sinners?

I have noticed that not everyone has the same understanding as to what it means to "PRAY THROUGH". If you tell 12 people to "PRAY THROUGH" who are going through struggles in their life or with their character, each of them will that to mean something different. The concept of "PRAYING THROUGH" may mean to just calm down or take a chill pill to one person and to the next it means reaching for a certain level of consecration and anointing.

The days of tarrying services in pray are long gone and the generations of Pentecostals in leadership today only have a vague understanding of what it takes and means to "PRAY THROUGH". The modern day Church only prays to the extent that it doesn't interfere with their comfort zones of traditions, philosophies and deceitful flattery.

It would seem to me that praying through would stir the spirit of man to be entwined with the Spirit of God. Then our soul would be set on fire with grace in travail and groaning in the Spirit. Our mind would receive and anointing and Communion in the Holy Ghost with knowledge and understanding. All of our being would then know the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings or responsibility for the Church and we would receive council for a mission task or edification for the Church. Our will would be made conformable to the will of God to follow peace with all men. Our will would also be dealt with to be made conformable to Christ likeness in all righteousness and godliness. We would then be moved upon with great revere for God to unite our hearts to the cause of Christ to carry the gospel to every nation, kindred and tongue or be led in spiritual warfare to intercede for the advancement of the Kingdom of our LORD Jesus Christ.

What are we to do if no one knows how to pray through any more?

What are some good teachings on praying through?

WHAT''s UP, in Laodicia la la land with you!!!
